Mega-CD / Sega CD

Sega’s CD-ROM platform expanded the Mega Drive with red-book audio, video, and larger games.

The Mega-CD debuted in Japan in 1991 before reaching North America as Sega CD. Two add-on designs were joined by integrated combination systems including the CDX, Multi-Mega, Wondermega, and JVC X’Eye.
