Virtual Boy

A red stereoscopic display delivered depth without glasses, but comfort and software limitations cut its life short.

Virtual Boy projected separate red images to each eye through a tabletop visor. Its striking experiment produced a small library before Nintendo discontinued it less than a year after launch.
